Flower Care AFTER your Wedding
Keeping your flowers fresh after your wedding or event is very important and helps for better preservation results.
There are two kinds of Wedding Bouquets, hand tied bouquets and cascading bouquet, each require different care. Below are details on each type.
Hand Tied Bouquets
- Do Not put the bouquet down during the ceremony, the flowers will bruise. Allow the bride's maid to hold the bouquet.
- Ask your florist for a vase during the wedding with water and place it at the head table. If the ribbon gets wet, don't worry, we can clean it, if need be.
- If your hand tied bouquet was arranged in a bouquet holder which has wet foam in it, follow the cascading bouquet directions.
Cascading Bouquet
- This bouquet has a water source to keep the stems moist. It does not require much attention beyond ensuring the foam remains wet by occasionally adding water to the foam.
- You can simply place the bouquet on the table in a safe place during the reception.
Boutonnieres and Corsage Care
- We offer complimentary preservation of two corsages and three boutonnieres. (Mother's corsages and father and groom boutonnieres)
- Ask a friend or family member to collect these from the moms, dads and groom.
- Wrap them all in a damp paper towel. You can also package them individually and label who the flowers belong to by labeling the outside of the Ziploc bag.
- Keep the flowers together in a safe place and place them into a refrigerator along with the bouquet after arriving home.
General Flower Care for all flowers and bouquets
- DO NOT FREEZE THE FLOWERS!
- After the wedding, and if you are staying at a hotel, place the bouquet in the hotel refrigerator in your room. Avoid placing the flowers on the back shelf in the coldest place in the refrigerator.
- Do not give the flowers to the hotel staff as their refrigerator is extremely cold.
- If no refrigerator is available in your room, a simple cooler with ice can be used. Cover the ice with plastic and avoid the flowers from touching the ice in the cooler.
